My Story

Every Christmas since I was able to read, my family went in a very specific order when giving me presents. My aunts and uncles went first, then my mom, and finally my grandma; this was because they all knew that my grandma had gotten me the one thing I desperately wanted already: new books. Once I laid eyes on those new books, I was gone, swept up in the different variations of characters held between the pages before me.
From there, my passion for literature expanded, and I began to write my own stories. In sixth grade I was awarded 2nd place for a piece of fiction, and from there the accolades continued. I was included in Stratford Academy's literary magazine as a middle schooler and continued to submit my work as I got older. I was an active member of The Gazebo, our school newspaper, and became Photography Editor as a sophomore while still writing weekly columns. I participated in the Stratford Academy Literary Team as a Personal Essayist my junior and senior years, placing 3rd place in the state and region.
As I entered college, I learned that there were countless voices to be heard and stories to be told. This realization was solidified when I took my first "real" job as a Copywriter at Stratford Academy. I believe a lot of writers joke about using the power of words for persuasion, but I had never considered how much our language could accomplish.
I am excited to continue on my writing and editing journey, and most importantly, I look forward to ensuring all stories heard.
